LAWRENCE CHESTER JOSLIN, 89 of Stephenson MI passed away Monday January 8, 2018 at Atrium Post Acute Care Center in Menominee. Lawrence was born January 7, 1929 to the late Walter and Ida (Lehmann) Joslin in Menominee MI. He attended Stephenson High School where he enjoyed playing football. On January 8, 1946 Lawrence married Marilu Hornik at the Church of the Precious Blood in Stephenson MI. He worked for 19 years at Gruenstern Cheese Factory and finished his working career as a chemical operator at Ansul-Specialty Chem, Marinette WI, retiring in 1991. During his career he was also head of the advisory committee for 11 years, dealing with labor relations. Lawrence enjoyed raising sheep, trap shooting, hunting, trapping, fishing, camping and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. He attended Bethlehem Covenant Church. Lawrence enjoyed his retirement and time spent, with Marilu, wintering in Florida. He was a member of the Menominee County Sportsman Club for many years.

Lawrence is survived by his wife: Marilu of 72 years; 3 daughters: Peggy Carrier of Stephenson MI, Marilu “Micky”(Gary) Chaney of Menominee MI and Laurie Ann (Tom) Chaney of Carney MI; 3 sons: Lawrence Michael of Menominee, Walter Joseph of Menominee, and Patrick Shawn of Stephenson MI; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. One sister: Ruth Slatter of St Louis Park MN. Lawrence was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Orville and Ray Joslin; 1 sister: Iva Hartman; 1 great grandson: Robert; and son in law: Gilbert Carrier.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 12, 2018 at the Anderson Diehm Funeral Home after 4:00 pm until time of Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday January 13, 2018 at the Bethlehem Covenant Church, Stephenson MI from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 am with Reverend Andrew Stonina officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of other forms of sympathy a memorial fund has been established, any expressions may be directed to a family member.

    Love you Uncle Lawrence, you will be greatly missed. Many great memories as a child and adult, visiting you and all those great Joslin reunions you and Marilu hosted so many times thru the years.
